...it's funny. They warn you about so many things surrounding life on land, but they don't warn you about how loud it gets.

[He sips his wine and stares out at the little bit of reflected moonlight on the waves.]

That...but also it calls to you. The sea. If I close my eyes I can hear it calling me home sometimes.

[Lifts the bottle, refilling Nanami's glass before taking a sip from his own]

It's true that land is loud though. Back home, if you want quiet, there is so much room. You can swim far far away, or go up to the surface at night. We have far fewer merfolk than the land has humans. There are far less of us in a much larger space. Here, there is really nowhere to run.

[He listens, aware that he is part of that loudness here and not wanting to intrude on something so personal for Azul. The sound of the waves is soothing to him, and he reaches out to touch Azul's hand, holding it if he can.]

It helps, but....it's something like homesickness? I've never asked the twins, but it feels like something surely all merfolk must experience.

That is harder to solve. Hopefully one day when things are solved here and you can return home for real.

[He doesn't miss his home that way, and as much as he doesn't want to see Azul go, he does want to see him happy.]

Not a chance. I have no interest in living in the Coral Sea again. Land has been far more interesting. That doesn't stop the compulsion though.

I find the sounds of the ocean relaxing, this was a lovely choice.

I can see well enough in the moonlight. But if you need more light or warmth, by all means.

[He leaves his coat back with their other things but transfers something from the coat pocket to his pants pocket before he sets off.]

I would be laughed out of the Coral Sea if a little ocean breeze made me cold. As far as light goes, I can adjust for that.

[Pockets his glasses before leading the way, swinging their joined hands]

Just because other people would mock you for being cold doesn't mean I will.

[It's hard not to feel lighter in his steps with someone swinging his hand, although it feels so unlike him that he's almost surprised to find it happening.]

May I see your eyes?

[Laughs a bit, not unkindly just surprised and endeared]

Haven't you seen them before? But yes...you may.

I have, and I want them to be what I most remember of this moment.

[He puts a hand on Azul's face as he takes him in.

It's very sappy, but also Nanami is half expecting to see Azul's eyes with their ocean pupils as a response to the lower light. And he enjoys seeing those as well.]

[Leans into that hand, doing his best to not close his eyes, Nanami will be rewarded with a couple brief flickers of Azul's pupils fighting to return to their natural shape]

Oh? Should I save my other surprises for a different night then?
