It's just...a bit embarrassing to explain. Especially to landfolk. And what if you think it's strange...? I don't want to ruin our date...

[He sighs a little and makes sure both of them are settled in a comfortable spot.]

I'm sure it is strange, but strange doesn't have to be bad. You don't have to tell me anything you're uncomfortable about, just know that seeing you like this has not diminished my interest in you at all. After all, the first time you showed me your other arms I was worried I may have been a little too interested in them. I didn't want to scare you, or make you think I was only interested in your body. I don't know a lot about octopus biology, and none about merman biology, but as long as it's attached to you I know it will be fine.

We can always just go for a swim and then finish our date on land, also. I do still have a present for you waiting up there.

[Sneaking kisses further down and around his neck to the other side.]

[He pulls back a little to look Azul in the eyes.]

[Brushes his fingers slowly along Nanami's neck and back, glancing up to meet his gaze]

That part is scary too.

[When Nanami answers it sounds like he's speaking as much to his own worries as to Azul's.]

Connecting to people who you will eventually lose... it is terrifying. But I've lived a life without connections as well, and I don't think I want to go back to that again either.
